Introduction
“Fewer” (hereinafter referred to as “the App”) is a one-time-purchase photo cleaner app that detects duplicate photos, similar photos, blurry photos, document-like photos, large files, and more, and lets you review and remove unwanted photos and videos with a simple swipe.
The App makes no network connections whatsoever, and all photo analysis and cleanup processing happens entirely on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles data.
Information the App Collects
The App does not collect any personal information.
- The App has no server-communication capability, so photos, videos, detection results, and settings are never transmitted anywhere
- No advertising or analytics SDKs (such as Firebase or AdMob) are included
- There is no account registration or login
- The App does not collect crash reports or usage analytics
On-Device Processing
Every feature of the App runs entirely on your device.
1. Photo Library Access
To help you find and clean up unwanted photos and videos, the App requires read and write (including delete) access to your photo library.
- Read: To detect screenshots, screen recordings, similar photos, duplicate photos, blurry photos, document-like photos, large files, short videos, old media, and groups of photos by person
- Delete: To remove photos and videos you select from your photo library (deleted items are kept for a period in iOS’s built-in “Recently Deleted” album — this is a feature of iOS, not the App)
Selected or processed photos and videos are never transmitted outside the App.
2. Automatic Detection
The App uses Apple’s Vision and Core Image frameworks, entirely on-device, to detect:
- Screenshots & screen recordings: identified from photo/video metadata
- Similar photos: photos and videos taken in quick succession are grouped together, based on both how close in time they were taken and how close their average color is
- Duplicate photos: detects photos that look identical by comparing image feature prints, even if they were taken far apart in time
- Person-based grouping: detects faces in your photos and groups photos that appear to show the same person (accuracy may vary depending on expression, angle, and lighting)
- Blurry photos: determined via image analysis of sharpness
- Document-like photos: detects photos where a document, such as a receipt or whiteboard, fills most of the frame
- Large files, short videos, and old media: detected based on file size, video length, and capture date (thresholds can be changed in Settings)
All of this detection happens entirely on your device. Detection results are never transmitted or shared externally.
3. Cleanup Stats and Settings
- The total number of deleted items, total space freed, the date of your last cleanup, and your date-format preference are stored only in on-device storage (UserDefaults)
- This information is never transmitted externally
- Uninstalling the App removes this information as well
Information Sharing
The App shares no data with any third party. Since no third-party SDKs (advertising, analytics, etc.) are used, there is no recipient to share data with in the first place.
Your Rights
- You can change photo library access permissions at any time in your device settings
- You can reset your cleanup stats (total deleted count and space freed) at any time from the Settings screen in the App
- Uninstalling the App removes all settings and records stored on your device
Data Retention
- Photo/video data: not retained by the App (photos and videos you delete follow iOS’s “Recently Deleted” retention period)
- Detection results: held in memory only while the relevant screen is displayed and discarded when you close the App
- Cleanup stats and settings: stored on-device and never transmitted externally
Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. Because the App has no data-collection capability at all, it does not collect personal information from any user, including children under 13.
Security
Because the App makes no network connections, there is no risk of data leakage in transit. Protection of on-device data relies on iOS’s built-in security features.

This Privacy Policy may be changed without notice. In case of significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. We recommend that you review this page periodically.
